Road Traffic Accident Claims

With over 300,000 road traffic accidents a year causing injury, you’re likely to be involved in one at least one time in your life.

Road Traffic Accidents Today

The definition of a road traffic accident is when an accident has occurred on the roadway, or in an area that is accessible to the public, such as walkways and footpaths.

Traffic accident statistics show that every year, thousands of people are injured or fatally wounded on UK roads. We are here to help those who have been injured in a road traffic accident, which was caused by another person or party.

We pursue a road accident claim against the guilty party on your behalf, and recover the legal costs through their insurers, so you don’t have to pay a penny! It’s completely free.

Accident Types

Although the most common road traffic accident claims are car accident claims, we are also experts in dealing with other types of RTA claims, such as:

  • Motorcycle / Motorbike accidents
  • Bus accidents
  • Cycling claims
  • Pedestrian compensation
  • Other auto accidents

Whiplash claims

Whiplash is the most common type of injury acquired in our roads. It is normal for whiplash symptoms to appear between 6 to 12 hours after the accident occurred. Sufferers of whiplash will experience some or all of the following.

  • Movement loss and stiffness in the neck
  • Possible headaches
  • Muscle spasms
  • Arm or shoulder pain

Other less common symptoms

  • Pins and needles in arms or hands
  • Blurred vision
  • Feeling more tired than usual
  • Vertigo
  • Spasms
  • Back pain

Whiplash occurs because the ligaments are flexed or are extended over and above the limits of normal movement. This can cause inflammation, which is generally short term. However, there are some instances when Whiplash symptoms have been known to last over 6 months, leading to chronic diagnosis.

If you have been in an accident and suspect you are suffering from Whiplash, please give us a call on 0800 085 3627 or complete our online form.

Other Injuries

Despite the common nature of whiplash injury, we have also helped to recover millions in compensation for other types of injury, including:

  • Bone fractures and breaks
  • Amputation of limbs
  • Brain and other head related injuries
  • Spinal injuries, including paralysis
  • Cuts & brusing
  • Burns
  • Physcologial damage
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Fatality
  • Car crash injuries

What's the procedure?

Our dedicated team of Road Traffic Accident specialists will guide you through the process which now involves completion of the Ministry of Justices’ Claims Notification Form that is then submitted on the industry’s secure “Web-Portal”.

You will usually be advised within a matter of days whether the other party has accepted responsibility for the car accident claim at which point your legal advisor will begin working with you to value your claim.

Whether it's a straightforward whiplash claim or more serious accident, all claims must be started this way

As well as physical injuries, road traffic accidents can also lead to psychological damage.

In serious car accident claims there could be more severe injuries that affect the spinal cord or brain, or cases where amputation is required. In 2010 almost 2,000 people were killed because of road traffic accidents.

I need a replacement car

Just speak to one of our advisors. We can organise a temporary replacement whilst yours is being repaired and we will claim back the cost of that as part of your claim.

My injuries have stopped me working

We can request an interim payment of up to £1,000 on your behalf as part of the RTA portal procedure. This can help keep the wolves from the door.

Rehabilitation

Need to get back on your feet quickly? We can organise private physiotherapy assessments and treatment, the cost of which can be claimed in addition to your other claims to help you get back to your old self as quickly as possible.

Serious Injury?

You’re in expert hands! The RTA Portal is only designed for smaller claims but all claims need to be initially notified to insurers via it. Once that’s done and we’ve advised all concerned about the severity of your injuries you can be sure that your case will be dealt with by an experience Solicitor with years of experience in handling all the complex losses associated with serious injury. In addition we can ensure you are correctly advised in relation to all complementary legal issues that arise from serious injury such as calculating future loss; long term rehabilitation; possible future care requirements and of course correct financial planning.

In short, we can not only help you, we can excel at giving you the best possible legal advice and assistance.

How much will I get for a car accident claim?

Estimating how much you'll receive is difficult because it depends a lot on your specific circumstances.

Moderate whiplash injuries will pay anywhere from £750-£3,000 while more severe personal injury claims can easily top £10,000. People involved in very serious injuries that cause paralysis could be entitled to millions with a comprehensive compensation package that allows them to live their life with all necessary care, adaptions and support required.

The best way for you to find out how much you could get is by getting in touch directly, either by calling us for free on 0800 085 3627 or complete our online claim form.

Watch out for bully-boy insurers

Whilst you need to report the accident to your insurer, DON’T LET THEM BULLY YOU INTO USING THEIR SOLICITORS.

You have the right to choose who represents you and only you can instruct a legal representative. Your insurer cannot instruct one on your behalf without your express consent.

Many insurers tell their panel solicitors to begin acting before you have agreed to even begin a personal injury claim. They do this because they get a commission (or a kickback) for every claim they send to a solicitors. You have the right to tell them to stop and instruct an organisation you want to use and who you can trust.

Avoid large organisations where your claim is handled as part of a large process and you are no more than a number. Make sure you can speak to the person who will be handling your case.

At Accident Injury Expert, we can offer you that level of care during your claim, the care you deserve.

How long will a claim take?

Again this depends on your case, however, most straightforward claims that don't argue about liability take in the region of 3-4 months.

Whilst having to wait so long can be distressing for the claimant, rushing a settlement will mean you don't get the full amount you are entitled to. Our personal injury solicitors will ensure your claim is dealt with in detail to ensure you are awarded the full amount of the accident compensation you deserve.
