Whiplash Claims - Whiplash Compensation

Have you had an accident which wasn't your fault and have the symptoms of whiplash. We can help you make a claim for compensation.

Common questions about whiplash

Whiplash may sound trivial, but it can be a serious injury that causes you to suffer much discomfort and may even lead to a loss of earnings and high medical bills. If you think that you have whiplash, then read on because we have answered the most common questions about it for you.

What is whiplash?

Whiplash is an injury to the neck that occurs when a sudden or forceful movement causes the spine's soft tissue to become strained or stretched. It most frequently happens during car accidents, but whiplash can also be caused by other intense activities, such as horse riding, diving, head banging or during an assault or fall.

Symptoms of whiplash

Stiffness in the neck and back of the head and headaches are the most common symptoms of whiplash. These problems will usually present themselves within two days of an accident and they can last for a variable period of time that ranges from a few days to several weeks. Other symptoms include pain down one or both of your arms, a tingling sensation or numbness in your arms, hands, chest or legs, and being unable to move your head.

Why claim for whiplash

If you have whiplash and it was someone else's fault, then we can help you make a claim for compensation. For example, if your whiplash was caused by another driver crashing into the back of your car, then you may wish to seek a payout to make up for the pain that you have suffered as a result of the accident. You may also want to be reimbursed for medical fees and any earnings you have lost out on by being off work.

How much is a typical whiplash compensation claim

  • Whiplash (minor) £875 - £5,150
  • Whiplash (moderate) £5,150 - £16,400
  • Whiplash (severe) £16,400 - £97,500

How long is the average waiting time for a claim

If you hire a lawyer who is used to dealing with whiplash claims, then it should only take around 3 - 4 months to complete your case. The time can vary depending on your injury and the details of the accident, but you should hopefully receive your payout within six months of when you choose to make a claim.
